Way to go PM Dudd and Labor

kevin_rudd.jpgLiveNews - Thousands of people have lost their jobs on the back of rising petrol and food prices. Unemployment has risen to 4.3 per cent, that's its highest level since around election time last year and means around 20 thousand more people are out of a job. [snip] It's already triggered a shockwave on the sharemarket with the Australian dollar falling three quarters of a cent. Craig James from Commsec says higher petrol prices are to blame.

ABC News - A key measure of consumer confidence has dropped to its lowest level since 1992, when Australia was coming out of the last recession. Higher petrol prices are being blamed for the renewed downturn in the Westpac-Melbourne Institute index of consumer sentiment. Westpac chief economist Bill Evans says he has been surprised by the 5.6 per cent decline in the index this month.
But hey, look on the bright side, we've signed Kyoto and it's going to get colder soon, any time now. We're going to rid the world of nasty nuclear weapons. We have an education revolution. We said sorry. We'll get battery powered Camrys soon. We'll be paying a flat fee for fuel soon. If you manage to find work, you'll have 'your rights at work'. If interest rates go up again, it'll be easier to change banks. After the coming round of tax cuts, we won't be allowed to squander any more of our own hard-earned money. We're going to be the star attraction in the Asia Pacific circus. We finally managed to stick it to those Americans in Iraq, making terrorists around the world fall in love with us. And we might even get gay marriage, yay! Image thanks to Yahoo Images.
