A perfect example of biased (no, wait, make that lying) reporting:

New attacks fan flames of war

15jul06
THE Middle East is effectively in the grip of a new war, as Israel yesterday continued its strikes against Hezbollah guerillas in Lebanon while its own lands were hit by the rockets of its Islamist enemy.

Fighter bombers blasted Beirut's airport for a third day and homes in the capital's southern suburbs were bombed, igniting fuel storage tanks and cutting the main highway to Syria.

A total of 51 people have been killed by Israeli raids in retaliation for the capture of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah, which yesterday hit back with 17 rockets fired at northern Israel. They caused no casualties.

No mention of the fact that the homes bombed were in Hizbollah areas, carefully targetting those areas after dropping warning leaflets. No mention that the highway to Syria was cut to prevent Hizbollah from moving the kidnapped soldiers to Damascus.

So Hiz "hit back" by firing 17 rockets, eh? They've been firing rockets into civilian areas of Israel for months and they've caused a lot of casualties. The loathsome Advertiser article would have readers believe that the rockets were fired in something like self-defence against the evil Iraelis.

Beyond contemptible.
