The siege of Malta

"This is something I post every year. Today happens to be the 442nd anniversary, to the day, of the heroic stand at Malta, an event which all who are thankful for the blessings of western civilization should remember. On Friday, May 18th, 1565, the fleet of the Ottoman Empire was sighted by the watchmen of The Knights of the Order of St. John at Forts St. Elmo and St. Angelo, headed for the southern shore of the island of Malta...."
