Evidence of Fraud Found in Parking Lot

(Menominee, Michigan) A receipt found in a store parking lot prompted a notification to the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS) via the department's Facebook page. Consequently, an investigation was launched.

Evidence allegedly was found which indicates that items purchased with food stamps were resold at 50 cents on the dollar, a felony. A local man, Louis Cuff, was arrested and charged with felony food stamp trafficking, punishable by a possible five years in prison.

Readers can decide whether this incident is a case of inattention to detail, stupidity, or just outrageously rotten luck.

In any event, the message of this story is: When doing something illegal, don't litter.
